We journeyed to Abuja to attend the NATCON conference
Once upon a time, 6 delegates representing JCIN UNILAG embarked on a road trip to the Centre of Unity (Abuja), Nigeria for the most anticipated event -the JCI Nigeria National Convention (NATCON), SOAR'23.
Our journey was a delightful blend of enjoyment and learning. Our delegates, with their impeccable fashion sense, added a touch of glamour to the event, showcasing stunning attire that caught everyone's attention. During the convention, a mobile clinic was organized, providing a wide range of medical services, including free checkups, blood sugar tests, hepatitis B tests, and malaria tests. It was a testament to the commitment and initiatives of JCIN.
Amusan Esther, a delegate from JCIN UNILAG facilitated a session at the convention sharing valuable insights and knowledge.
Our delegates had a great time exploring the city of Abuja by going on a tour to Magic Land to unwind and explore the great city.
The National Convention ended with a splendid Banquet and Award Ceremony. The 2024 National Convention will be hosted in Abeokuta, with the Collegiate conference set to take place in Kwara State, Ilorin, to be hosted by JCIN University of Ilorin.
SOAR’23 was an event to remember.
Writing competition
We are receiving entries for the Olawale Ahmed Annual Writing Competition. It’s a program that encourages students’ critical thinking, and creative thinking and also gives students the sheer satisfaction of finishing a piece of high-quality written work. Calling all passionate writers to be part of our eagerly anticipated competition, where the alchemy of words transforms emotions into vivid stories.

Gist/Extra
Unilag had me refreshing my mail constantly after balloting for a bed space last week Wednesday and it felt like I was new to technology. {Balloting is a process that enables Unilag students to secure accommodation in school. It can be a very stressful experience, and at times shape your first two weeks in school}. I ended up not getting a bed space so I ranted in my journal. I recently started journaling different memories about people and myself. Writing in my journal is like talking to myself on paper. It helps me understand my thoughts and feelings, and it's been a great tool for personal growth and self-discovery. It's like a map of my inner world. You should try to journal too.
