MATRICULATION AWARENESS PROJECT
If there’s one thing this tenure is committed to, it is membership growth. Hence, the Matriculation Awareness Project was held on the 11th of April, 2025, during the university's 2024/2025 Matriculation ceremony. The initiative aimed at introducing the new students of the University of Lagos to the organization, and the wonderful opportunities we offer.
Our volunteers shared flyers, introducing JCIN UNILAG and its opportunities to the freshers. They also encouraged freshers to join our community, and took pictures with them to celebrate them.
The Matriculation Awareness Project goals were to increase the membership growth of the local organization, promote the visibility of JCIN UNILAG on campus, and among new students, highlight the positive change JCIN UNILAG makes on campus and in our community, and to give our members a platform to build their confidence and public speaking skills.
ANCHOR UNIVERSITY TEDx EVENT
On April 12, 2025, our members attended the TEDx event hosted by Anchor University themed “Rewriting Limits”. The event featured inspiring speakers, including Favour Megwara, Favour Chisom, and Mohammed Gilmore, as well as, interactive exhibits, and networking opportunities. The event’s theme encouraged the attendees to think creatively, pushing beyond boundaries, and achieving success.
CLIMATE HUB CLIMATE ACTION BOOTCAMP
Also, JCIN UNILAG partnered with ClimateHub.org for its event held on the 22nd April, 2025 - the Climate Action Bootcamp. The event themed “Our Planet, Our Power” was organized to inspire real actions around climate change and sustainability.
At the heart of it all was Anjola Ayodele, Founder of ClimateHub.org and also the Director of Sponsorship and Partnership at JCIN UNILAG. Her passion and leadership brought everything together, creating a space where big ideas could turn into meaningful action.
The bootcamp featured insightful sessions from climate experts. Topics discussed surrounded Renewable Energy, Circular Economy, and Climate Education.
JCI NIGERIA SOUTHERN CONFERENCE
JCI Nigeria hosted its Southern Conference in April, and we showed up in style! The 3-day event, themed EKODUN, brought together JCI members across different states in Nigeria.
The conference was an exciting event, featuring several insightful sessions. It included the Human Duties walk, an inspiring morning show that focused on running a business in the digital space, an amazing panel discussion, and a Q&A session with the National President of JCI Nigeria, JCI Amb. Oluwatoyin Atanda.
Highlight was the awards presented to JCIN UNILAG. We won awards for Local Organization with the Highest Delegates, and Best Global Goals Project, respectively. In addition, JCIN UNILAG members were recognized for completing their mentorship programs.
